Abbe Nollet, The Master of Observation and Demonstration
Back in 1746 Abbe Nollet, a pioneer in understanding electrostatic electricity, by way of demonstration to Louis XV, sent a lighting bolt through 180 Royal Guards standing on cork, causing all to simultaneously shout out and jump in the air, repeating the experiment with 700 fellow monks in central Paris to an audience of onlookers!
