Copper Diatom #1

Captured from nature, our diatom lamp originated under a scanning electron microscope, converted to the beautiful copper structure shown. Alongside silver and gold, copper is classed as a noble metal. With care, copper will retain its sheen over time. A gem filled, slip-in insert brings the lamp to life when illuminated, mirroring what you might expect to see if the lamp came to life and you shrank to a diatom-size world.

Lamps can be purchased either with or without a gem insert. Gem inserts have a “river-bed” structure incorporating larger water worn “alluvial” stones dispersed in a mined coloured “gravel”. The complex shape and random colour pattern inspired by nature combined with the characteristic sheen and colour of copper metal bring interior spaces alive – delivering localised soft ambient light rather than intense light for reading.
